My son was involved in an automobile accident and was taken to a nearby er then transferred to a trauma center. He was in ccu then in a private room. Numerous tests were done and several doctors were involved in his care. He had some medical coverage on his vehicle and before they will give me a definite price they want to know how much insurance he had. He had $25,000 coverage but that amount will not cover all his expenses for 2 ambulance trips, 2 er’s, numerous cat scans, x-rays, doctors, etc. I know medical costs can be negotiated when you can discuss the subject before using their facility but we were in a situation that we weren’t thinking about the cost but about his injuries and what needed to be done.
