Uk Question For People Who Have Pet Insurance? Particularly With Pet Plan?

January 20th, 2010 → 6:32 pm @ // 2 Comments

Anyone who has a PetPlan policy: What is the average monthly cost of insuring a cat?
I took up the 6 week free insurance my vet was offering with Pet Plan when I took my kitten for his first vaccinations. Lucky! As my kitten had a bit of an accident this week, and needed to stay overnight at the vet. He’s fine now, but since I’ve claimed on the insurance I am bound to an annual policy.
It’s no hassle but out of interest I was wondering, on average, what the monthly charge for a mixed breed cat is? As I am still covered by the 6 week free policy, I’ve not been contacted with any quotes etc.
Thanks.

    Hi
I adopted a cat a month ago and decided to get pet insurance. I did loads of re-search and found that Marks & Spencers are apparently one of the best around. We pay approx £7.50 per month for the middle plan, but its up to you on what plan you want to get. Just go on their website below and click for a quote (it will save you phoning them up) – it will also give you details on what your cat would be covered for :o )

My mum pays £22 a month for one of our cats and another for the other lol. That’s gives us £6000 to cover out cat per illness. Which has come in handy as one of my cats took a nose dive out of my brothers attic window. He was okay! Very lucky! and my cat is now on tablets everyday for the rest of her life. She also got bit on her tail and it left a hole and she had surgery and that was all covered. We got all the money back and more than what we expected!
My friend pays £25 for her mixed…hope that helps :)
