If you change insurance companies will they know if you have claimed for a pre-existing condition before? My cat had some X-rays as a kitten, didn`t need treatment then, i since changed companies because i didn`t like the customer service, now a year later, i think my cat will need some treatment.
Do they have a central data base they check?
I will get the work done (maybe £1000) but obviously if i can claim i would rather.

I breed cats insurance is a pain and a rip off but handy when expensive treatment is needed
My advice just give the kitty a different name and register at a different vet
The world is not full of innocent little angels and believe me insurance companies make a huge profit

Can’t you just set up a new insurance policy for a ‘different’ cat? Insurance is always tricky, but I can’t see how there’d be a problem if you gave a different name for your kitty. It is fraud though, so be careful!!

If you take out insurance with a new company your vet will probably have to fill out a form which will include details of your pets previous medical conditions and the results of a health check. If your pet has a chronic condition it is best not to change insurance companies as the new company will probably exclude pre existing conditions.
If you try to put false information on the application form and they find out it could cause serious problems with you getting insurance in future and possibly not just for pet insurance.
