I read all the rabies questions on yahoo answers already but i’m still worried about recieving rabies because I saw the cat lick it’s paw and I figured that the claws would get soaked in it’s salvia, which carried the virus. It doesn’t have foam in the mouth and wasn’t vicious ( it clawed me because i tried to take back the food i gave it) I’m constantly feeding it so it would stay so I can observe it for rabies symptoms
My health care insurance expired the day I recieved the scratch also
Does anyone know how much a rabies shot is?

While it is true that I love her dearly (why, I don’t know) she has been, since I bought her, the nearest thing to resemble some creature loosed from the bowels of he!!. The vet says I should get her the shot. But he won’t do it. Something about his liability insurance. Since last time I took her there, she had a rather unfortunate altercation with a Doberman. I hear that the owner is trying to sue the Vet and me for about 50 thousand bucks. I do have to say though, I am a bit proud of Psycho B**** , that’s my cat, for slapping down that wimpy Doberman.
So anyway, will a distemper shot make her a bit nicer?

She has a torn diaphragm that is leaking fluid into her lung area and needs an operation to fix this. She also has anemia and is currently getting a blood transfusion for this. Apparently she needs her red blood cells at a certain level before they can operate, but unfortunately she also has an infection that is making her anemia worse and this needs to be treated first. The antibiotics for this infection actually decreases her red blood count in the short term, which wouldn’t be a problem if not for the fact that there is more fluid leaking the longer this goes on.
I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience of their cat having a torn diaphragm/anemia and surgery and if so, how did it turn out? At the moment the doctors are saying this is a difficult case, but not a lost cause. Luckily I have Pet Insurance which will cover some of the cost.

I already have a fixed male 18 month old cat. But I want a 2nd kitten…My parents dont really like wasting money on fancy things for animals…but my cat is deffinately spoilt with love, everyone loves him to bits! He sleeps in a cardboard box, with a fluffy blanket which he trys to ‘dig’ in and make a nest lol. He does have this big cat scratcher/climbing frame. And he also sleeps on my bed occasionally. I prefer to make him toys at home, like an old sock with a bit of scrunched up paper, and the end knotted. He also likes things like bottle caps attatched to a bit of string, attatched to a stick, and especially paper balls! I do buy him toys from the pet shop, but they are kind of pricey, and he just ruins them to the point of no longer being able to use! Do you think it would be unfair to get a kitten, but not spoil it with accessories, but instead love? And I thought, the only extra cost of the kitten would be insurance (£7 a month) food, and litter. I mean, toys are pretty much free, I already have brushes and nail clippers, and cardboard boxes and blankies are pretty much free too! Do you think it would be bad for a kitten to be spoilt with love instead of money? The most we would have to pay for vet bills is £70, and i dont think that would be a big problem…and vaccinations are done at cut-price by this vet in my town…

The fall was my fault because 1) I chose to slide on the floor that I knew was wet 2) I was drinking and they know because when I went to the hospital they took my alcohol content. I am going to try and file a Workers Comp claim through the place I work just to get my medical bills paid thats it. I know it doesnt cost the business anything because I talked to a insurance rep and its just included in their insurance. However their insurance can deny me because of the alcohol so if they do will my own insurance cover me? The hospital bill was for $2500 which included a CAT scan and stitches.

The cat ran into the road & the dog followed- both got hit by a car. Dog is ok- cat died. The car was dented (amount damage unkown) My friend spent 12 hrs in the vet with the dog and in the mean time the car owner reported it to his car insurance co. The police came by looking for her and when they finally found her they wanted her name & phone number for the report. Now the insurance co sent her a letter asking for her insurance info. Her car wasn’t involved so I told her they probably want her boyfirned’s homeowner’s insurance info. Would homewoners cover the damage to the car because the dog ran from the yard of the house into the road? I did not know what to tell her. She is in NJ. I told her to call an agent & pose the question to get an unbiased opinion rather than call the homeowners 1st. Can the insurance company come after her?

I started feeding her in the summer. By October she had started to feel comfortable and settled with us. We didnt realise she was pregnant. I have 2 other cats, so i took her straight to the vet. She was fine but having kittens. She had her kittens , 6 beautiful little dumplings, and they will be 4 weeks old next week.
My question is this. Does a mother cat feel upset if I give her little babies away (at 9 weeks)? It seems cruel to me, but i cant have 10 cats, the insurance and costs are just too high.
