It WILL NOT lower the price that it can be insured for. It will reduce the maximum amount that they would pay out in the event of a total loss. That would be somewhat less than the amount for the identical car without the Cat C. Some companies will not cover Cat C cars.

I am currently looking to be a car, I am a new driver no NCB and no experience, would a category D car increase the insurance, I know that the car only had minor cosmetic damage but has been fully restored. Thank You
