Still Confused About Pet Insurance?

OK – I’ve never taken it out for previous pets and was lucky enough not to need it. My friend’s old cat got some kind of urinary tract problem that was treated ok, but then some time later, she got the same problem back but was going to be expensive to treat but couldnt get insurance as it was an underlying illness. So, it has made me feel cautious. I have a 5 month old kitten who is very healthy, but if I dont insure her now, will I be able to get cover if she gets ill in the future? Also, there are so many different policies, I dont know what I should be looking for. She is an ordinary moggy – not pedigree, but I love her and would hate if something happened to her that I couldnt afford to treat. Anyway, what I want to know is – can you recommend a policy and why? Also – are there any companies to avoid like the plague and why? Please only give answers that refer to UK policies.

My cat has a very sensitive tummy. We have changed her food to Science Plan for sensitive stomachs. But she was still being sick every few days. So we took her to the vet Friday and they suggested there cat food. If she is still being sick in 8 weeks to take her back for tests. We do not have pet insurance at the moment and thought of paying out for loads of test scares me a little. Is it to late to get pet insurance for this. They do not cover pre existing medical conditions but as she has not been diagnosed with anything would she be covered. Any ideas would be welcome.

I just came across a website about pet insurance and am a little thrown off.. i don’t really grasp the concept unless your cat has a bad immune system, breaks their bones a lot, or needs extensive surgeries. what is pet insurance really all about? is it worth it?
my kitten is 9 weeks and is NOT an outside cat. i’m up-to-date on her shots and everything is normal. when we got her, the lady was exceptionally nice and showed us the mother and that everything was fine with her. i tried looking around the website but it just wanted me to pick out a plan that i liked- it really didn’t give me examples or persuade me about why i needed it.

I’m looking for a car and a lot of slightly cheaper ones are category D..what difference does that make to the value of the car? as in insurance etc, can it be removed from the cat d list ? and how could i get that done if i did buy a cat d car? basically is it worth buying a cat d car over a non cat d one?

when Katrina hit, everyone assumed most of the people with insurance would get thier claims processed without any strings attached right I mean it was a cat 3 if not 4 hurricane that had sustained winds of 135 mph right? It is common knowledge that those winds cause the storm surge but now the big insurance giants are trying to get the government to save thier ( bleep!) because the insurance companies call most of the damage flood damage this way they can weasle out of paying up by putting the pressure on fema and claiming that they can’t tell the difference between wind and flood damage, this is your chance to answer this question for me
why do we allow these scam artist to even try this crap, should there be a federal law saying if the damage is caused by a hurricane( and it’s 135 mph winds which led to biloxi miss being scoured off the map, ) the insurance companies must payup or face having their ASSetts sold off to compensate those whodeserve it the people who have paid
