Registration And Insurance Question.?

what happens if your cat is due for inspection and it is not running and it has like 100.000 miles on it and lost of some income i can not afford to have it fixed.except naybe having it towed away.but i still want to keep my insurance even if i dont drive the car anymore.what can happen please tell me so i wont have to pay any fines. should i call D.M.V. and tell them i cannot get the car through inspection. what will they do. and with my registration and insurance. all i want to do is still pay my insurance. does that have anything at all to do with my registration. im so confused thanks.

    If the car doesn’t pass inspection then you will probably not be able to renew your registration. You may be required to turn in the plates once the inspection is expired, check with your DMV to find out for sure. you can still keep the car insured, but it’s kind of pointless if you don’t drive the car and/or if it’s not even registered.

    What kind of cat do you have that is due for an inspection? And what kind of inspection?
