---get a cat insurance quote---

this was 3 days ago and he was about to feed our 2 year old female cat that is not nuetuered, and when he went to put her food down on the floor she attached him. she never been outside and she had her shots but she never been tested for any infections before gettin her shots, she also attacked the vet 2 months before and after that she attacked me but mine was not as worst as his. now he is saying that its swollen and it hurts really bad when he rub his hand on it slightly so it very sensitive. i wonder if it may be infected and what should we do before goin to the hospital cause he dont have any insurance, so some kind of home remedy. we have been using neosporin and its healing up pretty fast but now the swelling and the worst pain he could ever feel is happening please help immediatly.

I agree with the 2 answers above, in that I don’t think you should get 2 kittens to replace the poor cat who was obviously physically or mentally ill. You don’t seem to know much about cats, they don’t always scratch you, especially for no reason. Something must have traumatised yours at one time, cats never forget, was she badly treated by someone before you got her ?
I can’t understand why the vet you saw and your cat attacked, didn’t recommend having her spayed at least.
I too have had many painful bites and scratches but we expect it when dealing with ill cats and abused cats. Could your fiance maybe see a nurse without paying ?
If you do go ahead and get some kittens, please don’t hold this experience against them, treat them gently and have them neutered too.

Maybe put some vaseline on it and bandage it up.
See how that goes for a while, if it dosent heal see a doctor because its probably infected.

Go see the doctor and get rid of the cat. It sounds like she has a mental problem.

It sounds like it’s infected. You may not have to go to the hospital but perhaps seeing your doctor (which may be cheaper) or some kind of urgent care facility to get some antibiotics to help combat it would help. You can try cleaning it with water, and using an antibacterial cream that you can buy at a pharmacy. If the pain and swelling gets worse I would definitely think about a doctor.
By the way cat scratch fever is an actual real thing, not just the name of a song, so you have to be careful, http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/…

its just infected, keep applying antiseptic and take some pain killers and it should subside also keep bathing it to ensure nothing gets in the wound.
Ps YOU SHOULD NOT GET TWO NEW KITTENS IF YOU HAVE JUST GOT RID OF YOUR CAT!! its just so cruel its like saying eeeerrr i dont like you anymore im going to replace you. Do you know your cat is most likely to get put down. because its very unlikely they will find a home for her. and all that for just scratching your partner what a lovely way to tell her she has done wrong.

    Listen try this:
Wash part infected with soap and warm water
    then rub alcohol
    then rub peroxide
then rub Povidone Iodine 10% (whats used in the hospital for cuts and bruises, it kills infection and any germs) -The color of it is like a blood color-http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/vi…

It’s infected. He needs a shot of antibiotics. It should have been washed out with soap to make sure all the bacteria was out.
Don’t wait, if it’s hot to the touch, painful and getting puffed, you need the antibiotics today. It takes a day or two for the antibitotics to take hold. Go in to emergency or a clinic.

You didn’t mention how he treated this initially. Did he immediately wash it with soap and water? Or did he use peroxide? (which is a very bad thing to do as it eats away the granulation tissue which helps heal and form scars).
At this point other than washing it with soap and water and applying neosporin ointment and keeping it clean and dry through the day.
If the area becomes swollen, hot to the touch and red or if you notice the redness traveling upwards, then it is too late for at home treatment and he MUST see a doctor. Cat scratches and bites can become infected very quickly, especially when proper care isn’t taken initially. Because cats walk in their litter boxes, their claws are exposed to the bacteria in the litter box. Then when they scratch a person, especially deep scratches, that bacteria gets deposited inside the scratch.
Put hot compresses on the area and continue to keep it clean and dry. Follow up with medical help if things do not improve soon.
    Best of luck
    Edit:
How unfortunate you gave your cat to animal control. I’m sure she was quickly euthanized. And now you want to replace her with 2 new cats?
You said she wasn’t spayed, that very well could have been your problem. The build up of hormones can case cats to act up and occasionally this leads to lashing out at their humans. Too bad you weren’t a responsible owner and had her spayed when she was young, perhaps this could have all been avoided.
I guess it was just easier to make her someone elses problem and replace her with 2 new kittens. So if they act up will you give them a death sentence as well?
