throughout the past few days my cats eyes have been gettting crusty and they have been hard to open and im wondering what to do and what the amount of money will be if i take her to the vet.
im only asking about money because i am running low on the money i have (i have spent most of it on formula and bottles and other stuff for the cat) and she is not on the insurance yet but she will be soon

You can clean your cats eyes using water that has been boiled and cooled down and with a pinch of salt in it. Dip some cotton wool in the water and clean away from each eye, using seperate cotton wool for each eye. It sounds like conjunctivitis which is painful and also contagious to humans so ensure you wash your hands each times you pet your cat and after cleaning her eyes.
Now, some chemists/pharmacies actually sell eyedrops for animals ….Fucithalmic Drops are what the cat needs if it is conjuntivitis and you can get them for less than 10euro (I live in Ireland).
It could also be an upper respiratory infection, as mentioned, so you may well need to get to a vet, as the illness will not clear up by itself, unfortunately.
Hope this helps!

for now, until you take her to the vet, you can use a warm salt water solution to wipe on her eyes to get the crusty off. when you take her in there will be an exam, which will probably be about $70 (depending on where you live and how much the vet charges). you wil also probably get antibiotic drops or ointment which may be around $30? it will be worth it for your baby because eye infections are not fun!

it’s probably conjunctivitis or an eye infection. She will need antibiotics or it wont get better. Has she been vaccinated? if not this could be a sign of a more serious disease. She needs a vet. In the mean time bath her eyes with COOLED boiled water with a little bit of salt and cotton wool. Only one wipe per piece of cotton wall, inwards to outwards.

My vet charges $40 to diagnose and give medicine for URI. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to cure it inexpensively. Try an SPCA clinic or call around for best pricing at different vets. Don’t put off going for too long.

One of my cats had this problem a while back and the vet said he had an upper respiratory infection and gave him antibiotics and eye ointment that cleared it up quickly and i believe it cost us about $45.00

Its conjunctivitis, an infection that will need eye drops off the vet to clear it and wont go on its own.
