Absolutely not I would say. You would need a lot of possibly specialised equipment to line up front cross member & all the steering gianetics. If you have the experience & the kit you might be tempted to take it on if the price was right. But then it would be recorded in the log book that it had been a right-off so it would not have a sell value later on.
Bearing all this in mind, I would choose to take the money & run.
I hope this helps. Good luck. h

Being a Punto, it’s best left where it is unless it’s ridiculously cheap.
You can pick up Puntos of this age for around £700 in very good condition, so think carefully about the cost of repairing it – as a Cat C repaired vehicle, it would be worth around £500 when finished.
There’s a 2001 on Autotrader with 40k miles for £550!

LET IT REST IN PIECE,the only problem with older cars is that the insurance companies find it cheaper to give you a lump of dosh than have the car repaired as they go by its book value. They do not consider the many bonding ceremonies you have been through together,in this light,it may pay you to repair it if it is very light damage—your choice, your money. You must,of course, notify the vehicle registration office of your intentions and have it inspected when repaired.

It wouldn’t be worth buying back to repair because the cost of the replacement parts. however you could make a offer to buy it back cheap to sell the parts or repair with salvaged bits or sell it to a salvage yard for a profit due to scrap prices. try making a offer of say £50

depends on your offer and on the cost of getting it back, but i didnt want my car back after i saw it in the garage carpark. They had proper neglected it. I just took the money and got a new car.

Ask one of you local breakers how much they will pay for it and then play it off with the insurer.
