I am moving out at 18 (2 years) so I am savings from 16-18 and judging by furniture cost/deposit of rent cost vs savings ill have plenty left over incase of an emergency
.
So anyway how much does it cost to get set up with…
Beds?
Jabs?
Bowls?
Insurance?
Also is this a good idea. I have 11 rats atm, Love them but I think most will have passed away by im 18 because they have a rather short lifespan:( and if they are alive I will have to keep them at dads and just pop-up to look after them. But either way if I got 2 baby rats, and a kitten near enough the same time, will it help the kitten and rats bond? as I did this with my lurcher and she gives them kisses, never hurts them.
Please don’t say “recue one from the shelter” even though I would love to because…
1) I want a KITTEN I can have for sevral years and bond with from the very beginning
2) an older cat will kill the rats str8 away
BUT how

A cat is a great indoor pet.You can leave it for a few days with food and water as it has a liter box but with a dog you would have to have someone take care of it if you should want a vacation.
On the furniture part check garage sails for bed frames, you’ll have to buy springs and mattress depending on what you want.Whatever else you want start gathering it now.It doesn’t have to be new, second hand works well.Wish you luck,Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders.

yes a cat is a good pet for a single. they are low maintenance and quite happy alone just leave a radio on or something for sound for the cat. If you get the kitten it may be fine with the rats as it will grow up with them and they will just become part of the environment though it may stare at them alot. as for cost your looking at your cat, which you can get kittens free ALOT of the time and you’ll need a few things like toys kitty litter box, kitty litter, if you want a bed ( though not NESSISARY as cats are quite happy on your bed lol or the couch etc. and of course your water and food bowl all in all you could pick up your nessesities for around 100-150 for your cat .and your cat would be quite set up. You may also look at gettin a travel crate wich you could buy off craigslist for 20$.Also think about gettin your cat fixed. wich will run around 20-50 depending on where you go and how old the cat is. Jobs just apply at local stores and food service places. use craigslist for alot of your stuff as you can pick alot of furniture up for free. Dishes and everything. just buy new stuff as you have spare money.

No sure what the cost is over there (wherever you are)
But honestly a KITTEN is the cheapest pet to set up with
You buy the kitty and enough food for it to feed til the next month or however you get paid
All you need for kitty is a litter box and two
1 x food
1 x water
and there you go
Think that they are the best thing since chocolate this was the best pet to set us up with in the flat

cats are great pets for those who live alone. they are usually freindly, dont need beds (they dictate yours, lolz) but the kitten might beat up your rats. i would say get them declawed, but thats such a horrible thing to do… i would get a baby kitten, just old enough to be given away, and raise it near and with the rats. it will either grow up thinking of them as toys, or freinds. (freinds hopefully.)
for one cat, the cat food might be around $10 a week. but its love and affection are pay enough.
(plus chicks dig guys with sweet cats that like them.)
