First thing is that he is an indoor cat, I have bought him scratch posts and have managed to cut his nails but they grow so quickly, is there anywhere I can take him to get them cut? I cant find anywhere and someone said it was because if insurance purposes? Is this true?
The other thing is that he has suddenly started doing the toilet in strange places, mostly where my clothes have been eg my drawers. This is very unlike him but he is a very loving cat and follows me everywhere, I had to move back with my parents due to illness and my flatmate looked after him. I am back now and wondered if this could be because he was missing me??

Keeping your cat’s nails trimmed (weekly if necessary) and providing scratching posts is the best way go. I’d rather not put my cat through the stress of putting him in his carrier and driving him to the groomer or vet for nail trimming. I don’t think there’s any insurance that covers nails.
Going to the bathroom outside of the box can be a result of stress but first you must rule out health problems. A cat with constipation or digestive problems can go outside of the litter box.

If a cat is peeing out of his litterbox, it is a sign of UTI’s which is serious and painful!

if he uses the post he should be fine but never get them removed and is he fixed
