I Am Buying A Car That Was A Cat/d Insurance Claim, How Can I Make Sure It Will Be Ok To Mot And Insure .?

the vehicle had a new bumper and boot,no floor damage.i would like to get it inspected and taken off the insurance register but dont know how to go about this,its a lot off money to lose if it all goes wrong,please help me!

    The aa or Rac will do a full mechanical inspection on the car and give you a written report.Keep it as it will help sell the car should you buy it. I’m pretty sure you can’t take them off the insurance register.Remember the car is not worth or will never be worth what an undamaged one is worth. I have had 3 Cat Ds in the past and never had a problem.Do your reseach and good luck.
    Cat D doesn’t need to be inspected to go back on the road(C does)just MOTd

    u can check online.. all the car history –https://www.mycarcheck.com/– i am not sure. alrite.. i havent searched anything on it. just know tht there is this site.. but do it only if u want to …or as said earlier u may want to give ur reg no. to the insurance group.. they will have all the details..

    if you are amember of the aa or rac or similar or a member of your family are members of these or any other car breakdown services for a small cost these companies will advise you and inspect the car for you. pleaase do this before purchasing car

    best thing to do is give reg no to an insurance co they will go from there hope it helps
