Use the 6wks wisely to shop around to obtain other quotes as the insurance company will definately contact you asking if you wish to continue with their cover. I don't believe we pay for it and the new owners certainly don't, I think it will be petplan themselves. Considering when you adopt a new cat from us we suggest you keep it in for four weeks, thats only really 2 weeks left of cover when your cat ventures outside. You get a letter sent around the 4th/5th week and if you don't want to renew it you don't have to do anything at all which is good. It's just to encourage more people to have pet insurance really. "Your free cover expires in 2 weeks, to continue protecting your pet sign up now. If you don't, you don't love your kitten and will go to hell". OK I made that last bit up... but you get the point. Of course you don't have to sign up, you can just take the 6 weeks cover and that's that, but the company is willing to risk 6 weeks free cover as a way of getting you onto their books for good.
