My hamster just died and im really upset about it and i really want a cat.
My dad said that they scratch the furniture and they make loads of mess but i said you can train them not to scratch the furniture by having a a scratching post and having a litter box to keep the house clean.
I have done loads of research and i know how to look after a cat/kitten.
I even offered to pay for everything but he still said no. I also said the only thing i would need his help with would be vets and insurance. But he still says no.
My mum said i could as long as i dont get bored of it, but how can you forget a cat/kitten when there making you laugh so much.
Please Please help!!

Your dad is right. I have to cats and they have a scratching post but they don’t always us it. Litter box training is easy but you can’t train them not to scratch your furniture because that’s what cats do. I’m sorry about your hamster but maybe you should get a new one.

Just keep reading up on cats and show him how educated you are (you already sound like you know a lot) Maybe even write him a paper. Prove to him you are responsible in other ways by doing all your chores and then some. Good luck, cats are a gift to be owned by.

i got my kitty 9 yrs. ago and i love her very much. i got her front claws removed so now she is a house cat plus i got her fixed so she doesn’t howl every month . she’s never a problem as long as she’s fed and i rub her when i get home ( which she demands LOL ) after she eats she will come over and play with my tummy then sit on the arm rest and we watch tv. your dad will hate me but your tactic should be to pester him till you break him down like a prisoner waiting to confess to the crime LOL . GOOD LUCK i hope you win!!!

Oh my dear father! How miserable I am in this prison I am contained in! Oh how I dread the death of my beloved love, (name of hamster). I woe my nights, for I cannot sleep without my companion, yet you do not alllow me to recieve another one. Oh! Now cheerful i shall be if only…if only I had a feline as my beloved, who I would care for my self with all my effort and perserverance. And if ye shall not offer your agreement, than I shall perish in a realm of dread and misery….

Well how about you emotional torture him???!!!! Just say, “You and mom are busy all the time. I need some one to spend my day with. I can’t hanf out with my friends as long as I will with my cat. And if it does anything to our furniture or anything, I won’t say a word when you ground me or make me do stuff that I hate doing. Just let me get a cat……….please please please, I really do need someone.” And if you’re good in acting, just start crying!!! Emotional torture is the best you can do right now…..really……..I’m not knidding…….!!!!!!
