Cat Insurance You Don’t Need All The Injections For?

October 3rd, 2009 → 12:57 am @ // 4 Comments

Does anyone know of a pet insurance I can take out for my kittens where they don’t need all the injections? The reason I ask is because my kitties are strictly indoors there is one injection they do not need. Most insurance companies state that they must have this injection for them to be covered but I don’t see the point in getting in done unneccisarily.

Most insurance companies will insure kittens without them having injections, mine does even though they’ll be getting their injections this month and I got with Tesco’s pet insurance. http://www.confused.com will help you compare pet insurance prices to get the cheapest one.
    Hope that helps.

What’s the point of pet insurance? It’s expensive–and most animals stay very healthy. I’d rather pay for a few vet visits than pay every month and never use it.
Besides rabies, cats can get the other diseases even if they’re indoors anyway–you can bring things in like distemper on the soles of your shoes.
So unless you have an expensive show cat, get the injections, not the insurance.

I honestly got that optional injection because it is required if I would ever need to board my cat. I didn’t want it at all because it isn’t needed and isn’t proven to be all that effective yet, but you never know what can happen. If you really want the pet isurance, which is a waste of money in my option, just get the injection. Personally after months of research, i decided I would be better off putting the monthly fee into an account for the cats rather than putting it towards insurance that has co-pays and doesn’t cover everything 100%, and something that my cats may never need. So far that plan has worked out well for 3 years, and I always had the money for the unexpected this way for the cats.

“Crystal” has an excellent idea! Wish I had done that years ago with my older cats.
