Can anyone advise me on which pet insurance is good here in Vancouver? I have an 8mth old cat and I would like to get him on a plan except I don’t know which would be best. Also would I pay the deductible for every visit? Or does it mean that I would pay it just once a year? Thank u for ur help.

Hi there…most pet insurance agencies only cover preventative care …very companies few cover urgent care for medical emergencies, which is what most people need for their pets. Another concern brought up by consumers is that some insured agencies are not long-standing businesses. So be sure to see if the pet insurance agency has received good reviews by Canadian Council of Better Business Bureaus: http://www.ccbbb.ca/
Animals with pre-existing conditions could be denied coverage and/or lose coverage.
Younger pets (puppies and kittens) are likely to get into mischief that could be life-threatening so insurance can be helpful “if” there is urgent care coverage.
Ideally, most people find it’s more practical by putting away a conservative monthly amount in an interest earning account that you can afford strictly for pet care is the best way to cover pet expenses and medical care.
I know this doesn’t directly answer your question, but hopefully will help you in making a decision as to which insurer to choose so that you will not become victimized and left without being able to care for your kitten over his lifetime.
